Ruritan is a national organization dedicated to improving communities and building a better America through Fellowship, Goodwill and Community Service.
Formed officially in 1947 in Remington, Virginia.
Founding members are/were veterans of World War II representing members of all military service branches.
Veterans from all military service branches have continued to join Post 247 and support the community surrounding Remington. Post 247 is currently represented by veterans spanning from World War II, throughout the Cold War, to Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom.

Organized in 1996, the Southern Fauquier Business Owners Association is comprised of approximately 120 members that include retailers, service businesses, industries, and medical professions.
Our Mission --
Foster camaraderie among United States veterans of overseas conflicts. To serve our veterans, the military, and our communities. To advocate on behalf of all veterans.

Ensure that veterans are respected for their service, always receive their earned entitlements, and are recognized for the sacrifices they and their loved ones have made on behalf of this great country.
